2026 Press Release
It’s Team Preview season at YGR. We have 16 race teams based out of Northern Colorado, and we’re kicking things off with one of two brand new squads: Viral Racing Presented By Western Infectious Disease Consultants, P.C.
Viral Racing is led by Team Manager James Stevens, with William Pankonin serving as Team Director. The duo attempted to launch a team last season but ran into challenges landing a title sponsor. With that piece now in place, Viral Racing officially hits the start line in 2026.
In its inaugural year, the team will compete primarily in cyclocross, gravel, and mountain bike events, with the occasional road race. The calendar will be anchored by the Colorado Cross Cup, where Viral Racing will line up across multiple Senior and Masters men’s categories, along with a full slate of gravel events in Colorado and surrounding states.
The roster includes several riders defending category championships, and the team has its sights firmly set on the Team Cross Cup competition. All riders on the squad are 35 and up.
Beyond racing, Viral Racing will also support the Frisco CX race and Hustle CX at the Boulder Valley Velodrome in Erie, underscoring the team’s commitment to the local cyclocross community.
