Springtime means flowers bloom and more people ride bikes, so it’s the perfect time to hone up on bike safety techniques, rules of the road and basic bike maintenance skills. Fort Collins residents can do all three during “Roll Into Spring” week, April 23-27.

“These types of events are a fun way to engage Larimer County residents in safety education. And with more cyclists riding than ever before, educating motorists, cyclists and pedestrians on how to share the road and avoid crashes is critical,” according to FC Bikes Interim Program Manager Molly North.

BPEC is recruiting more Bicycle Ambassadors to serve the Fort Collins community; they will provide safe cycling education for children, youth, families, motorists, seniors and all adults through Neighborhood Open Garage events, Bicycle Ambassadors provide free, basic bicycle maintenance training, route finding, helmet fitting and safety education. Patrol Ambassadors encourage and reward safe cycling behavior, and educate using “teachable moments” when they ride the city’s trails and streets.
