Four days after the fatal hit-and-run crash that killed 46-year-old cyclist Ernesto Wiedenbrug, the Fort Collins woman charged with leaving the scene told authorities she was responsible.

Theresa Marie O’Connor, 28, and her attorney met with a Colorado State Patrol trooper on Jan. 29, four days after the crash on an Interstate 25 frontage road between Kechter Road and Colorado Highway 392 near Windsor, according to an arrest affidavit.

 

Prior to the meeting, the affidavit says, O’Connor’s attorney, Brad Allin, told the Larimer County District Attorney’s Office he had a client who was ready to come forward regarding the crash.

According to the Public Information Officer with the Larimer County District Attorney’s office, Theresa Marie O’Connor has been charged with;

a. Leaving the scene of an accident(class 3 felony);
b. Careless driving; (class 2 traffic offense)
c. Failure to call police.
