Pineridge and Maxwell

  • Location:  SW side of Fort Collins at the West end of Horsetooth Road.
  • Playground? Yes at Cottonwood Glen and Spring Canyon Parks and of course there's Dixon Reservoir.
  • Bathroom? Yes at Cottonwood Glen and Spring Canyon Parks and at Pineridge and Maxwell trailheads.
  • Shade? Some
  • Fees? No
  • Description: The trails at Pineridge and Maxwell are mostly flat depending on where you park. If you're coming from Cottonwood Glen or Spring Canyon Parks, you're going to have a big climb to get things going BUT you get to come back down that and it's a super fun descent. The Westside of Pineridge also has some climbing and short tech spots. The trails are a combination of singletrack and gravel paths. The gravel can be a tad loose and sketchy for little rippers (tell Natural Areas to quit traveling everything).  Some areas are great for striders/single speeds but to do the whole loop your kids should be able to switch those gears.
