As we mentioned last week, YGR is profiling all the local race teams that will be lining to race in 2017. This week we have a look at Lee’s Cyclery-Trek bikes.
The 15 man roster was launched in 2013 and is managed by Mike Kolczak and Ryan Korzyniowski. Lee’s Cyclery, Northern Colorado’s oldest, largest and most awarded bicycle shop, (3 locations) has been the team’s title sponsor since the onset. The team’s primary focus is MM40+, Cat 3 and 4 road races but riders also compete in mtb, cx and gravel races. LC-TB helps promote Without Limits Productions’ Rocky Mountain Regional Cyclocross Championships each fall. In 2016 the team achieved 18 podium finishes during, including 4 wins by Greg Scanlan (MM40+ 3), 2 wins by Mike Kolczak (MM40+ 3), 2 wins by Curtis McIlvain (MM40+ 4), and 1 win by Blair Oliver (MM50+ 4).
In their own words: Launched in 2013 and based in Northern Colorado, the Lee’s Cyclery – Trek Bikes team includes local racers at all levels and disciplines. The team encourages members to get involved in the cycling community, participate in group rides, and race, but we don’t tell members when, where, or what to race. With this team, we are trying to create a culture that supports the competitive and social aspects of cycling while balancing team commitments with the personal, family obligations of each member.
