The One Speed Open, a super lowkey single speed gravel race benefiting local nonprofits, will take place on Saturday, March 28th at 9 am. The start and finish are at Sodgy Brewing. Please park at the City Park Baseball Fields. The brewery will not be open at the start.

The OSO is the OG NoCo gravel event, first taking place in 2005. V1 was a fundraiser so the legend Rafael Millan-Garcia could return to Mexico to visit his ailing father. The lowkey grassroots gravel race has happened more or less every year since.

The Rules:

Your bike must only have one usable gear.

To be scored for prizes, you must follow and complete the whole course. If you’re just looking to have a fun day out at party pace, register, and do as much of the course you want! There will be two shorter loops and course cut off options. Prizes for top 3 men, women, and non-binary/gender expansive AND best costume for same categories.

The official finish line is at mile 69.3. In a front yard of a Friend of FoCo Fondo, there will be a clock. Your selfie time with this clock is your finish time of day. This is literal, not a riddle.

The course will be published in GPX and Cue Sheet here and on FFF social media the evening before the race.

Time Bonuses – Maximum 3 minute time bonuses. Bonuses are only awarded at the aid station. Time bonus for feats of strength and gross consumables will be announced on the start line. Snacks and water will be provided at the aid station.

The roads are open, this is an underground event, use good judgment while riding on open roads, look out for each other. Be mindful of traffic and road crossings.

Don’t be a dick.
