Cross of the North is a USAC-sanctioned cyclocross weekend promoted by the 1st City Cycling Team and held on the New Belgium Brewing campus. With its festival-like atmosphere and national-caliber course, it is widely considered to be the best weekend of racing in the region. The races usually take place in mid-November. Howling Cow Cafe opened on July 1st, 2014, adjacent to Morning Fresh Dairy Farm hq, almost exactly a year after the Bellvue Bean closed down. That was a tough year for cyclists who were used to a mid-ride coffee break while doing the Dairy Loop.
