The Masonville Mercantile, which has become a popular stop for cyclists in Masonville, Colorado, is set to close on October 20th. The current owners, Melanie and Rodger Patton and Holly and Bruce Cook (you probably met Holly), purchased the Mercantile in December of 2018 and turned it into a cyclist-friendly stop at the crossroads of many popular road routes. Many of us were surprised to see the Scratch Labs banner appear out front, as the previous owners were often less than enthusiastic to take our money. Free tap water jugs, the porta-potty, and the option to purchase with credit cards were also welcome additions.
The property was initially listed for sale in July 2023 for $1,560,000, but after more than a year on the market, the buildings, their contents, and the land will go up for auction on November 16th.
