Friends of FoCo Fondo Launches as 501(c)3
Whit and Zack Allison, promotors of the FoCo Fondo, have launched a new 501(c)(3) nonprofit to continue their efforts to support cycling for all in Northern Colorado and beyond. Friends of FoCo Fondo is dedicated to creating greater access, opportunity, and connection within the cycling community.

Poudre Trail Open to Timnath
As promised, the Poudre Trail is now open all the way from Watson Lake in Bellvue to the South side of Timnath. Over the past year, FtC Parks, Planning, and Development completed work near CSU's Environmental Learning Center and Arapahoe Bend Natural Area, and CDOT finished the much anticipated I25 underpass. The 19.5-mile length of trail now runs without interruption along the Poudre River through Bellvue, Laporte, Fort Collins and Timnath. You can also ride roughly 20 miles from North Windsor to Greeley.

Poudre Connection Opening Soon
The City of Fort Collins announced this afternoon that the section of the Poudre Trail from CSU's Environmental Learning Center to Rigden Reservoir near Arapahoe Bend is slated to open on Monday.
Once open, you'll be able to ride 19.4 miles from Bellvue to Timnath on a dedicated bike path. More from YGR on Monday.

MyCycle Donates Over 300 Bikes
Nice work, team(s)! We hit our goal of providing bikes to every kiddo in Fort Collins’ Title One Schools. Combined, the community funded over 300 bikes, with a third of those coming directly from the Team Challenge. The Poudre Sunrise Cyclists won both the Total Bikes Competition and the Roster Percentage Competition.
Thanks to everyone who helped fund and build these bikes. Regardless of how the Team Challenge played out for your team, remember you had a very positive impact on the lives of these kids, and that is the ultimate goal. High fives all around!

CSU Crushes MTB Nationals
The Colorado State University Cycling Team sent seven riders to the 2024 Collegiate Mountain Bike Nationals in Bentonville, Arkansas, over the weekend and returned with a haul of medals, including multiple national titles. The roster included Tristan Trantow, George Poggemeyer, Quinten Loxtercamp, Luke Leavitt, Luke Eddington, Cade Bosler, and Elin Hartmann as the sole female racer.

Siphon Overpass Construction to Start
The city announced this week that construction on the Siphon Pedestrian Overpass will begin this Fall and will be completed by mid-summer. The much-anticipated overpass will connect SE Fort Collins to the Power Trail via the recently completed Mail Creek Trail over the Union Pacific Railroad tracks.

COTN 2024 Results and Photos
Colorado cyclocross racers descended on the New Belgium campus again this year for Cross of the North. The two-day festival uses the bulk of the Send Town Dirt pile course many of you competed on in October. Organizers added a few twists, turns, runups, and planks to mix things up for 700-plus racers.

High School MTB State Championships
Our NoCo high school athletes wrapped up a great season this past weekend with the Colorado League State Championships in Glenwood Springs. The Colorado Mountain College course built with the Colorado League in mind featured more technical challenges than the preceding conference races. The weather held for beautiful racing conditions both days of racing and our athletes showed up with some great rides!

Another Section of Path to Open
Another section, and arguably the most important section, of the Poudre River Trail is set to open tomorrow, October 17th, 2024. The latest segment will connect Fort Collins to Timnath under I25.

Masonville Mercantile to Close
The Masonville Mercantile, which has become a popular stop for cyclists in Masonville, Colorado, is set to close on October 20th. The current owners, Melanie and Rodger Patton and Holly and Bruce Cook (you probably met Holly), purchased the Mercantile in December of 2018 and turned it into a cyclist-friendly stop at the crossroads of many popular road routes.
