Larimer County Open Space

DEVILS BACKBONE OPEN SPACE and associated trails are OPEN for use as of April 19, 2015.

EAGLES NEST OPEN SPACE AND ALL ASSOCIATED TRAILS ARE CLOSED FOR MUDDY CONDITIONS as of 17th April 2015 until further notice.

HORSETOOTH MOUNTAIN OPEN SPACE AND ALL ASSOCIATED TRAILS AND TRAILHEADS/PARKING LOTS ARE OPEN FOR USE as of 19th April 2015.

RED MOUNTAIN OPEN SPACE AND ALL ASSOCIATED TRAILS ARE OPEN FOR USE as of 19th April 2015.

Fort Collins Natural Areas

Bobcat Ridge:
     Bobcat Ridge Natural Area is now open!
McMurry :
     Access only from Hemlock Street or Poudre Trail. Shields Street access is closed due to construction until the end of August.
North Shields Ponds :
     Neighborhood access only as Shields Street is closed for construction until the end of August.
Reservoir Ridge :
     Reservoir Ridge Natural Area is now open!
Riverbend Ponds :
     The boardwalk near the Cherry Street entrance will be reconstructed, so that segment of trail will be closed from now to July 2015. Please use alternate trails          and access points during the project.
Soapstone Prairie :
     Soapstone Prairie Natural Area is open. As of Sunday (4/19) at noon, there is about 2 inches of snow on the Mahogany and Towhee trails which are muddy and       slushy. Cyclist are recommended to stay off of the Mahogany Trail. The Pronghorn and Cheyenne Rim Trails are mostly dry with some muddy areas. There is           also standing water in the low areas of arroyos. Expect muddy conditions on the road ways, parking lots and on the trails.
 All other trails are open! Enjoy your natural areas!

Howling Cow Cafe

Howling Cow Cafe opened on July 1st, 2014, adjacent to Morning Fresh Dairy Farm hq, almost exactly a year after the Bellvue Bean closed down. That was a tough year for cyclists who were used to a mid-ride coffee break while doing the Dairy Loop. Lori and Robert Graves, the owners of Morning Fresh, managed to fill the void left by the Bean and then some.
