Cycling community members including Larimer County Commissioner John Kefalas and Fort Collins Mayor Jeni Arndt took part in the 2022 Ride of Silence and Ghost Bike Dedication on Wednesday evening. The seven-mile memorial ride took cyclists passed the two locations where cyclists were killed in crashes with motor vehicles in 2021. The ride and ghost bike installations were organized by  Anna Kelso of Bike Fort Collins.

  • Luis Loma- Killed on October 6th, 2021 in the 2200 block of North Shields Street. The driver has yet to be identified.
  • Don Lightbody- Killed on June 30th, 2021 at the intersection of Vine Ave and Jerome St. The driver was not found to be at fault.

Howling Cow Cafe opened on July 1st, 2014, adjacent to Morning Fresh Dairy Farm hq, almost exactly a year after the Bellvue Bean closed down. That was a tough year for cyclists who were used to a mid-ride coffee break while doing the Dairy Loop. Lori and Robert Graves, the owners of Morning Fresh, managed to fill the void left by the Bean and then some.
