USA Cycling announced that Fort Collins’ Olivia Cummins is on the Track Olympic Long Team. According to USA Cycling, this means “she is on the initial list of athletes from which the final roster for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will be selected next month. Based on the USA’s Nation Rankings, USA Cycling qualified for the following events: Women’s Team Pursuit, Women’s Madison, Women’s Omnium, and Men’s Omnium.”

On Thursday, USA Cycling announced the Track Olympic Long Team, naming the initial list of athletes from which the final roster for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will be selected next month. Based on the USA’s Nation Rankings, USA Cycling qualified for the following events: Women’s Team Pursuit, Women’s Madison, Women’s Omnium, and Men’s Omnium.

The women’s team includes a total of nine nominations, four of which were part of the Tokyo 2020 Team Pursuit Bronze Medal-winning ride: Chloé Dygert (Brownsburg, Ind.; CANYON//SRAM Racing), Jennifer Valente (San Diego; Virginia’s Blue Ridge TWENTY24), Megan Jastrab (Apple Valley, Calif.; Team dsm-firmenich PostNL), and Lily Williams  (Tallahassee, Fla.; Human Powered Health).

“Overall, we have a really strong team preparing for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Our efforts behind the scenes have been dedicated to nurturing new talent while providing space and performance resources for our Olympic veterans to flourish and achieve success on the track,” said Craig Griffin, USA Cycling’s Director of Track.

Newcomers to the Olympic Long Team roster include Team Pursuit Pan American Champions Olivia Cummins (Fort Collins, Colo.; DNA Pro Cycling), Emily Ehrlich (Slater, S.C.; Virginia’s Blue Ridge TWENTY24), Colleen Gulick (Long Beach, Calif.; Team Skyline), and Bethany Matsick (Warrington, Penn.). Additionally, Road Grand Tour Stage Winner Kristen Faulkner (Homer, Alaska; EF Education-Cannondale) has devoted the past year to training and racing on the track, and will be looking to claim her ticket to Paris this Summer.

On the men’s side, three Olympic hopefuls – Grant Koontz (Nederland, Colo.; Star Track Cycling), Colby Lange (Edwards, Colo.; Project Echelon Racing), and Peter Moore (Saint Paul, Minn.; Jan van Arckel) – are battling for a single spot to compete in the Men’s Omnium.
