
Monday Morning Update
The 2025 High Plains Drifter bikepacking race delivered fast times and clear skies across its 318.6-mile route through the plains of northeast Colorado. Riders rolled out of Greeley at 7 a.m. on Friday, September 26, following the self-supported rules, format, and style of the Tour Divide and Colorado Trail Race. Of the field, 20 finished while 15 scratched.
Cade Reichenberger led the way, stopping the clock at 19 hours and 17 minutes. On the women’s side, Torin Lackmann set a new course record at 28 hours and 5 minutes. Al Parks was the first non-binary and gender expansive rider to finish.
Justin Menestrina earned the distinction of final finisher, arriving after 1 day, 15 hours, and 27 minutes on course.

Friday Morning Update
34 riders rolled out of Greeley’s Twin Rivers Community Park at 7am this morning to take on the High Plains Drifter, a 330-mile, self-supported bikepacking adventure across Northern Colorado. Starting and finishing at Twin Rivers, the route mixes 70% gravel, 10% B roads, 10% singletrack, and 10% pavement, serving up big miles, wide open views, and endless night skies.
The HPD is free, fully unsupported, and offers no prizes—just the challenge of pushing yourself across the plains and back. Riders can be tracked live on TrackLeaders, map below.

What is the HPD?
The High Plains Drifter is a free 330-mile unsupported bikepacking adventure following a mix of gravel roads and doubletrack in Northern Colorado. There are no fees, or prizes.. Tracking will be available through TrackLeaders. The route is approximately 70% gravel, 10% B roads, 10% single-track and 10% hard surface. If you like wide open spaces and night skies this adventure is for you.
