COTN 2025 Results and Photos
Colorado cyclocross racers descended on the New Belgium campus again this year for Cross of the North, where 716 (Saturday: 370, Sunday: 346) riders took to the course over two days of racing. That’s slightly down from last year’s 726 total. Saturday’s races ran under cool, comfortable conditions, while Sunday brought near-record November heat that left the course dry and dusty. The event once again used most of the Send Town Dirt Pile layout, with organizers adding a few new features to keep things interesting.

Power Trail Closed Between Keenland and Trilby
The Power Trail is once again closed between Keenland Drive and East Trilby Road to allow crews to install the Siphon Pedestrian Overpass, which will connect the Power Trail to the Mail Creek Trail over the Union Pacific Railroad.
The trail will reopen once the overpass project is complete, with project completion expected in December 2025. During the closure, trail users should follow the posted detour between Keenland Drive and the intersection of Southridge Greens Boulevard and East Trilby Road.

Larimer County cyclists, Election Day is Tuesday, November 4. If you still have your ballot, do not mail it. It must be RECEIVED by the County Clerk’s Office by 7 PM on Election Day.

Twenty-eight riders from Northern Colorado made the trip to Colorado Mountain College’s Spring Valley Campus in Glenwood Springs for the 2025 Colorado High School Cycling League State Championships.

Cross of the North 2025
Colorado’s premier cyclocross weekend returns November 1 and 2 at New Belgium Brewing in Fort Collins. Cross of the North will feature racing for all ages and abilities on a course similar to the Send Town Dirt Pile races, with a few new twists planned for the USAC weekend.

2025 NoCo High School Race #4
The Colorado High School Cycling League Platte Division wrapped up the 2025 regular season in true Western style at the brand-new Royal Gorge Rumble course outside Cañon City on October 4. The 5.6-mile loop ran clockwise, combining double-track and technical singletrack through piñon forest with about 500 feet of climbing per lap. The rocky terrain, goatheads, and cactus tested both tires and sealant, making it a course that demanded focus and preparation.

Bay To Bay Trail Wins Statewide Award
Larimer County’s newest trail has already earned top honors. The Bay to Bay Trail at Horsetooth Reservoir has been awarded the Golden McLeod Award at the Colorado Trails Symposium, recognizing outstanding ingenuity in trail construction and maintenance.
Built entirely by hand through rugged terrain with the help of volunteers, the 1.8-mile connector between South Bay and Inlet Bay is now open to hikers and mountain bikers, unlocking a once-inaccessible stretch of Horsetooth and offering sweeping new views of the reservoir.

The Numbers are in- You Did It!
The second year of the MyCycle program is in the books (fka Wish For Wheels Fort Collins), and once again Fort Collins cyclists stepped up in a big way through the Team Challenge. Clubs and teams across town competed to see who could fund the most bikes and helmets for PSD’s Title 1 schools, raising a combined $23,230—enough to cover more than 120 bikes and helmets.

UCI MTB Worlds is coming back to the U.S. in 2030. The last time was Vail in 2001 (who else was there?), and of course the very first Worlds in Durango back in 1990 (anyone hit both?).

High Plains Drifter Recap
The 2025 High Plains Drifter bikepacking race delivered fast times and clear skies across its 318.6-mile route through the plains of northeast Colorado. Riders rolled out of Greeley at 7 a.m. on Friday, September 26, following the self-supported rules, format, and style of the Tour Divide and Colorado Trail Race. Of the field, 20 finished while 15 scratched.
