2022 Pro Road Nats NoCo Results
Northern Colorado had six riders (Olivia Cummins, Chad Haga, Gavin Mannion, George Simpson, Tayne Andrade, and Cade Bickmore) and various Team Rio Grande riders take part in the 2022 USA Cycling Road National Championships in Oak Ridge Tennessee between June 23rd and June 26th. Olivia Cummins came home with a win in the U23 women's criterium and a 2nd in the U23 women's time trial. George Simpson took 3rd in the Pro, 1 time trial and Chad and Gavin were successful in getting their teammate, Kyle Murphy, the win in the road race.

Suspect Arrested in Hit and Run
Fort Collins Police Services announced the arrest of Santos Martinez with regards to the May 27, 2022 hit and run of a cyclist near the Fort Collins Budweiser Plant.

North South Bikepacking Race Departs Fort Collins
The North South Bikepacking race is set to roll out from Fort Collins' Lee Martinez Park at 6:00 am on July 1st. The 595-mile self-supported gravel race (similar to the CTR) with roughly 48500 feet of elevation gain will end in Trinidad, CO. The route has about 200 miles of pavement, 300 of gravel, and 15-30 miles of singletrack. Ezra Ward-Packard won the inaugural race in 2021 with a time of 3 Days 4 hours 11 mins on a slightly different course.

Bike Prom 2022
Bike Prom, a bike-themed event celebrating and bookending Colorado’s June Bike Month with live music, DJs, and bike movies will be held Saturday, June 25th at the Lyric Cinema beginning at 8:00 p.m. The event will also feature a silent auction and guests will have a final chance to register in a raffle to win a new e-bike, where the winner will be drawn from the stage that night.

Every June, Colorado celebrates Bike Month and here in Fort Collins, we love anything that highlights and promotes people who ride bicycles. In 2022, we're back on track with Bike to Work (or Wherever) Day, planned for Wednesday, June 22, 2022 for the 34th year.

FtC Human Powered Health Riders and Staff take on Tour de Suisse
If you're looking for a UCI ProTeam to cheer for this year, may I suggest Human Powered Health? The US-based team formally known as Rally Pro Cycling has two riders and two staff members that call Fort Collins home. All four are currently in Swisserland for the 2022 Tour de Suisse which takes place June 12th- June 19th.

2022 NoCo State Time Trial Championship Results
Northern Colorado had 14 racers take part in the John Stenner Memorial Colorado State Time Trial Championship on Sunday in Keensburg. Eight of those riders finished in the top 3 with Charlie Mohr, Matthew Skrdla, George Simpson, and Victoria Dippold all taking wins. There were 147 racers in 2022. 241 in 2019.

YGR Time Trials-June
The June version of the YGR Time Trials starts on the 7th with the Taft Hill Time Trial. This particular race will include a 40k distance for those prepping for state championships. We'll do Double Dams on the 14th and Horsetooth on the 21st.

Tom Sweeney’s Ride to School Slideshow 2021/2022
The 2021/2022 school year marks a decade of riding to school and taking at least one photo per day every day, for Tom Sweeney. Tom teaches 5th grade at Bennett Elementary here in Fort Collins. I think this is the eighth year I've run his slideshow on the site and I always enjoy reliving the changing seasons through his lens.
