The CSU race weekend took place this past Saturday and Sunday in near-perfect conditions. There were 369 starters and 296 finishers at Cobb Lake. The Oval Criterium, which was held on a different course than usual due to construction, had 199 starters and 173 finishers.

Whitney and Zack Allison continue to expand their empire with the Bike Sports Professional Gravel Team. 2021 was a successful soft opening for Whack(?), Zackney(?), Whackillson(?), and they’ll be going all-in this season with little to no-paved races on the schedule for either of the former professional roadies.

Larimer County currently has two advisory boards with openings that could benefit from having cyclists as members. Application deadlines for both the Open Lands and Parks advisory boards are due April 21st.

Matador Elite Masters Cycling is a men's category 1 and 2 road, cyclocross and gravel team. 

The Overland Mountain Bike Association is gathering testimonials from cyclists who have been harassed while riding CR 38E (Harmony Road) between Fort Collins and Horsetooth Reservoir with hopes of convincing Larimer County to construct a trail between town and the reservoir.

The SendTown Bike Club is hosting a free Coach Training Program this Spring and the program kicks off with an introductory social event on Wednesday, March 23rd.

Anna Kelso, the Community Relations Coordinator for Bike Fort Collins, submitted James Bethea's nomination to be inducted into the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame on February 28th. Anna started the process just after COVID hit but ultimately decided to table the idea until induction festivities returned to normal so James could have the full experience. If James is selected by MBHOF Selection Committee he will be inducted in Fairfax, CA over the weekend of October 7-9, 2022.

Larimer County Natural Resources recently announced that the Horsetooth Mountain Open Space Adaptive Management Plan DRAFT is available for public review and comment. Comments will be taken through March 13 via the project website

Have you ever been dusting yourself off after crashing on Wathen and asked yourself, what the hell is a Wathen anyway? The popular trail inside Horsetooth Mountain Open Space is most likely named after Stephen "Bud" Wathen who owned property in and around Stout CO in the late 1800s and early 1900s.
