Fort Collins based HART Accel Pro Cycling opened its 2026 season with a week long training camp in St. George, Utah in January. The camp brought the team together for early season training and served as the launch point for a new video series that will follow the squad throughout the year.

The Fort Follies kicked off their 2026 season this week at Incycle Bicycles South. With 192 riders, the Fort Collins based nonprofit is the largest cycling team in Northern Colorado. Fossil Creek Trail between Trilby and Carpenter roads reopened on Friday, February 27, 2026, a month ahead of its original March 31st completion date. The trail was temporarily closed for a joint stream rehabilitation project designed to improve flood resilience and stabilize stream banks. During the closure, crews completely removed two bridges, relocated and rerouted a third. These upgrades ensure the trail and surrounding ecosystem can better withstand seasonal irrigation flows and major storm events.

Soapstone Prairie Natural Area, Red Mountain Open Space and Hermit Park Open Space have reopened for the season. Soapstone Prairie Natural Area, managed by Fort Collins Natural Areas, Hermit Park Open Space and Red Mountain Open Space, managed by Larimer County, close annually in December and reopen on March 1st. The public open spaces close each winter due to the "sensitive wintering range for large mammals and low recreational opportunities."

Winter Bike to Work Day returned to Fort Collins on Friday, February 13th, with a record turnout. The event, organized by FC Moves, drew just over 2,400 riders, the highest attendance ever for the winter ride.
