Cross of the North 2024

Colorado's premier cyclocross weekend is November 2nd and 3rd at New Belgium's Fort Collins campus. Cross of the North will host races for all ages and abilities on roughly the same course as the Sendtown Dirt Pile races, although course designers are retaining a few surprises for the USAC race weekend. Even if you're not racing, I encourage you to attend as a spectator or, even better, as a volunteer. There will be food and coffee trucks, a beer garden, and a full vendor area.

Niner Consolidates FtC HQ

Fort Collins-based Niner Bikes has settled into its new location at 2620 East Prospect Road, Suite 180. According to yesterday's press release, the 2,864-square-foot space will house the "core teams" while the operational and finance teams are in United Wheels headquarters in Miamisburg, Ohio. This marks the fourth move since the company moved to Fort Collins in 2011 and a considerable downsize from the most recent 15,000-square-foot Sharp Point Dr location.

High School MTB Race #4

The final conference race of the 2024 high school season went down in Nathrop this weekend. The Chalk Creek Stampede took place under the shadow of Mt. Princeton on a NORBA venue from ancient North American mountain bike history setting an epic backdrop for our Fort Collins athletes to battle it out one more time against their Platte region peers before State Championships later this month.

Fall Unicycle Program

Send Town Bike Club will again host its popular Unicycle program this Fall.
This program introduces children and adults, alike, to unicycling and several unicycling disciplines recognized by the International Unicycling Federation (IUF) and the Unicycle Society of America (USA).
All abilities are welcome, including those with zero unicycling experience. New riders will be instructed in the fundamentals -- riding, turning, and free mounting and refining those skills through fun and engaging activities.

High School MTB Race #3 Report

This past weekend our NoCo athletes took on the third race of their season, the Haymaker Classic in Eagle. The classic course with punchy climbs and ripping fast descents present an opportunity for the athletes to test their trail speed and fitness in a high speed race.

NoCo MTB Fest

Overland Mountain Bike Association is hosting the annual Northern Colorado Mountain Bike Fest this weekend, September 28th and 29th at Lory State Park. The festival will include: Demo bikes, Poker rides, Group rides, Beer, Wine, Food Trucks, Take a Kid Mountain Biking rides and more.

Eagle Project: Ft Collins Natural Areas Bike Repair Stations

Local Eagle Scout and mountain biker Ethan Hawley is working to add bike repair stations to several Fort Collins Natural Areas. The stations will be similar to those found around the Fort Collins area and will include a stand, pump, and tools mounted on a concrete slab. Ethan has established a GoFundMe campaign to help pay for the four stations that will be installed in four Natural Areas: Bobcat Ridge, Maxwell, and Reservoir Ridge Natural (x2) Areas.

Northern Colorado Trails Summit

The City of Fort Collins is hosting a free regional trails summit on September 26, 2024 to convene Northern Colorado trail development agencies, partners, advocates, user groups, and supporters in celebration of the City’s forthcoming Strategic Trails Plan and the exceptional paved trail system that our communities enjoy.
