FoCo Fondo Training Rides

Whit and Zack with Bike Sports are hosting training rides leading into this summer's FoCo Fondo. The series includes a women's only weekend, a beginners clinic, on-your-own rides and gravel group rides. The rides are free, but you must sign a waiver. The Fondo takes place on July 21st, 2024.
Winter Ralleye Gravel Rides

Time of Year: Winter
The Winter Ralleye is a series of gravel group rides that take place every winter in Larimer and Weld Counites. They are usually held regardless of weather conditions and can be done on any type of bike you are comfortable riding/pushing in harsh conditions. These conditions include but are not limited to; cold, darkthrity, COLD, snow, rain, deep snow, goat heads, wind and 60 degrees and sunny. It's not a race and there are no entry fees.
Four Seasons of Horsetooth Mountain Bike Challenge

The Four Seasons of Horsetooth Mountain Bike Challenge is a grass-roots un-event with no entry fees and no real start times and is ridden on the two solstices and two equinoxes in Horsetooth Mountain Park and Lory State Park.
NoCo Gravel Stage Race

Time of Year: Spring/Summer
The NCGSR is a free, Strava-based gravel stage race that takes place during the Spring and Summer in Larimer and Weld counties. The goal of these races is to "create a grassroots gravel event that creates a welcoming and supportive environment where people can challenge themselves, explore Northern Colorado roads, and get involved with a community of like-mined riders."
RioSwap
Event Type: Bike Swap/Party
Time of Year: Feburary or March
RioSwap is one of the crown jewels of the YGR empire. The annual bike swap and season launch party is hosted by YGR in the Rio's Agave Room every year.
Frostbite Time Trial
Event Type: Time Trial
Time of Year: Early Spring
The Frostbite Time Trial is hosted by Team Rio Grande Racing and historically launches the Colorado road racing calendar each year. The course heads South and then North on the I25 frontage road for 11.4 miles near the Buckeye Power Plant exit. As the name implies, it's usually cold and as the photo shows, it's usually windy.
CSU Race Weekend
Event Type: Crit & Circuit Race
Time of Year: Spring
The CSU road race weekend includes the technical CSU Oval Criterium and the Cobb Lake Circuit race. Both races are part of the Rocky Mountain Collegiate Cycling Conference and include collegiate and USAC citizen categories. The weekend is hosted by the Colorado State University Rams cycling team every Spring.
YGR Time Trials

The YGR Time Trials are a low cost, mid week, grassroots, road time trial series that takes place in April, June and August of each year. YGR's first time trial was promoted back in 2009 and are still going strong today. Races cost $10.00 and are open to riders of all ages and abilities. We have male and female categories as well as categories for regular road bikes, time trial bikes and mountain bikes.
Bike to School Day

Bike to School day generally takes place on the first or second Wednesday of May.
Send Town Shorttrack
Event Type: Mountain Bike Series
Time of Year: Late Spring
The SendTown Shorttrack races at New Belgium Brewing have been responsible for introducing hundreds, ney, thousands of people to mountain bike racing since they started over a dozen years ago. The energetic and welcoming atmosphere, low cost of entry, and rowdy racing are always a good time. The racing takes place on Tuesday nights. Get there early for the free kid's races.
Bike to Work Day

Bike to Work (or wherever) Day is one of Fort Collins greatest traditions. Dozens of free breakfast locations will spring up all over town to treat cyclists as they ride into work (or wherever).
City Streets Criterium Series

The City Streets Crits are a low-cost, mid-week, grassroots, criterium series that takes place in mid-summer. They are hosted by the First City Cycling Team and take place at the Fort Collins City Streets Maintenance Facility. They are open to all ages, abilities, and genders. The City Streets Crits cost $15.00.
North South Colorado
Event Type: Gravel Bikepacking Race
Time of Year: Late Summer
The North South Bikepacking race is set to roll out from Fort Collins again in 2024. The 500+-mile self-supported gravel race (similar to the CTR) with roughly 48500 feet of elevation gain will end in Trinidad, CO. The route has about 200 miles of pavement, 300 of gravel, and 15-30 miles of singletrack (all +-).
Laramie Range Epic

The Laramie Range Enduro originated in 1998, starting in historic Downtown Laramie, Wyoming. At that time, the race began with a police escort through town before climbing 1300 feet out of the Laramie valley and into the stunning landscape that graces our backyard to the east - the Pole Mountain Trail System. Twenty-four years later, this race has transformed to maintain a traditional approach to a cross country race, while adapting with the evolution of cross country culture.
High Plains Drifter
Event Type: Gravel Bikepacking Race

The High Plains Drifter is a 330-mile unsupported bikepacking adventure following a mix of gravel roads and doubletrack in Northern Colorado. There are no fees, prizes or sign-up. The route is approximately 70% gravel, 10% B roads, 10% single-track and 10% hard surface.
Weld County Grinder

WCG is a gravel group ride on a 66-mile loop starting in Nunn, Colorado. 99% of the route is Weld County gravel roads in and around the Pawnee National Grasslands. One aid station is provided.

Gowdy Grinder

The Gowdy Grinder is the main fundraiser for the Cheyenne middle school and high school mountain bike team, WyoX. Come ride your bike on the fantastic trails at Curt Gowdy State Park and support a great cause.
NoCo Criterium

White Line Cycling Events hosts the NoCo Criterium each Spring on the Northern Colorado Law Enforcement Training Center driving track in Loveland. The race is sanctioned by USAC. The course has lots of turns but they're predictable and the tarmac is brand new.
Tour de Fat

Tour de Fat is a free, annual bike parade in Fort Collins, Colorado that takes place around Labor Day weekend. The event features costumed cyclists riding to New Belgium Brewing, where they participate in a party with live music, games, contests, and beer. The 2024 parade will take place on Saturday, August 24.
Send Town Cyclocross

Time of Year: Fall
The Send Town Cyclocross races are a Fort Collins institution. The races take on place the New Belgium Brewing campus on Tuesday nights each Fall with hundreds of people taking part. The kid's races are very popular with the littles. Be sure to check out the beer garden and food trucks. Online registration is required.
Northern Colorado Mountain Bike Fest

Overland Mountain Bike Association hosts the NCMB every year at Lory State Park as a celebration of mountain biking and, specifically, mountain biking in Northern Colorado. The festival usually includes; Take-a-Kid MTB’ing Day, a poker ride, skills contests, a vendor expo, live music, food, beer, and demo bikes. It generally happens in late September or early October.
Cross of the North
Event Type: Cyclocross
Time of Year: November
Cross of the North is a USAC sanctioned cyclocross weekend promoted by the 1st City Cycling Team and held on the New Belgium Brewing campus. With its festival-like atmosphere and national-caliber course, it is widely considered to be the best weekend of racing in the region. The races usually take place in early to mid-November.
Winter Bike to Work Day

Winter Bike to Work Day encourages thousands of cyclists to ride their bikes to work (or wherever) each February. Dozens of local businesses sponsor free breakfast stations all over town. It's like Bike to Work Day but with mittens.
